Alyssa and DJ got hitched : 07.15.11

Cute. Cute. Cute.

Alyssa and DJ are the cutest couple ever! Besides Alyssa being super gorgeous, she is incredibly sweet. DJ is just the same and they are so adorable together. They are high school sweethearts, and have waited a long time for their big day! I was so honored and excited to be a part of it.

It was sweltering hot, so they decided we would just do the two of them for a first look and portraits at McKennan Park. Such a nice pair to save their bridal party from the 1000% humidity. (I’m only slightly exaggerating!) They chose the sunken gardens to meet and it was pretty magical. DJ just kept staring at her. He was so funny. Finally I think he said something like “You are never taking that dress off.”  Aww…

Speaking of the dress, Alyssa chose to wear her mother’s wedding dress. I have to say, in all the wedding in eight years of weddings, I cannot remember a bride ever doing that. I loved the sentimental value of it, and, of course, it looked great on her!

After some alone time in the park, we headed to Christ the King for the family photos and ceremony. That church has gorgeous stained glass windows and Alyssa definately wanted me to use them. I always love being at Christ the King because of those windows. Its even better when the Priest says “You can stand up front here for the ceremony.” :)

Before long, we were on our way to the reception at the El Riad Shrine Mosque. It was a new venue for me. I can’t believe it was my first time shooting there. It’s a great open place with lots of room and high ceilings. DJ Jer was there providing entertainment and the food was delicously prepared by Garretson Food Market.

Alyssa and DJ had a great crowd for the reception and the dance floor was packed!

Thanks again for having me!
